The Problem: Established as a traditional, Americana-inspired menswear label, WRK needed a strategic visual and creative refresh to remain relevant in a rapidly evolving market. To capture the attention of modern consumers, top-tier fashion editors, and premium department store buyers, the brand required a shift toward contemporary ready-to-wear without losing its core heritage appeal.
The Strategic Insight: Modernizing an existing brand requires elevating the narrative from standard utility to refined, design-led menswear. By introducing elevated fabric stories, modern textile prints, and clean, high-fashion visual direction, the brand shifted from a conventional heritage label into a forward-thinking fashion brand. Aligning the seasonal art direction with contemporary editorial aesthetics positioned WRK directly alongside premier ready-to-wear labels.
The Execution:
Art Direction & Concepting: Led end-to-end seasonal creative direction, establishing atmospheric mood boards, color palettes, and thematic concepts that guided each collection.
Textile & Product Design: Oversaw custom print design and technical fabric development, introducing sophisticated patterns and elevated materials into the line.
Lookbook & Campaign Direction: Directed seasonal campaign photoshoots, including model casting, lookbook styling, and visual pacing to build a polished, high-fashion brand image.
Marketing & Brand Collateral: Redesigned digital and print marketing collateral, line sheets, lookbooks, and promotional touchpoints for wholesale buyers and press.
The Result: Successfully repositioned the label into a recognized contemporary ready-to-wear brand. The refreshed aesthetic earned the brand "Best Collection" honors at the PROJECT trade show, secured prominent press features in WWD and Fucking Young!, and culminated in a showcase at New York Men’s Day.
